John Lytton

President & Founder

John Lytton is the President & Founder of Performance Unlimited. Under his leadership, Performance Unlimited helps thousands of adults and athletes get meaningful results each year. Growing up as standout soccer athlete in Mississippi, John developed a strong curiosity for human movement, and how it can improve performance on the field and extend lives.

This curiosity led John to obtain a degree in Exercise Science from the University of Massachusetts, where he continued his soccer career. Upon graduation, John would go on to play professionally in Brazil. This is where he realized two things. The first being that Fitness/Sports Performance would be a budding industry. The second realization was that Brazilian culture embraced movement not strictly as a science, but as an art form. From Capoeira, to Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, to Surfing and Samba, John was inundated with exactly what was never introduced to him back in the States.

This would ignite a passion that led to the founding of Performance Unlimited with one simple mission: To fix a broken sports and fitness industry by blending together the art and science of movement and actually help people get lasting, meaningful results. Lytton returned to the states and began the long term pursuit to change the way youth soccer players were developed in the United States while finding mentors along the way. Over a 14 year period, from 2006-2020, Lytton worked with several professional teams (Carolina Panthers, Charlotte Independence), college programs (Army, Texas Tech, Mississippi State, Wingate), national teams (US BNT, England U20), and countless clubs and athletes at every level.

Driven by a voracious appetite for delivering for clients, John has been unapologetic in his approach to continuing education, earning a License in Massage and Bodywork, as well as certifications from organizations such as Functional Range Conditioning (FRC), Functional Range Assessments (FRA), ELDOA, MovNat, RockTape, and more.
